Why I Built BiteBeat as a PWA

When I started building BiteBeat, I wanted one thing above all: make it ridiculously easy to use.

That is why BiteBeat is a Progressive Web App, or PWA. It runs in your browser, requires no app-store download, and can still live on your home screen like a regular app.

You can open BiteBeat from a link and start using it immediately. No searching, installing, or committing before you even know whether it works for you.

As a founder, choosing a PWA also means I can focus on building one great product instead of maintaining separate iPhone and Android apps. More time improving BiteBeat. Less time dealing with app-store overhead.

BiteBeat is designed for quick, real-life moments. Open it, log what you feel, and get on with your day.

Add it to your home screen

To keep BiteBeat one tap away:

  • iPhone: Open BiteBeat in Safari, tap Share, then tap Add to Home Screen.
  • Android: Open BiteBeat in Chrome, open the menu, then tap Add to Home screen or Install app.

That is it. BiteBeat will appear on your phone and feel just like an app.
